Jeffrey D. Cappella, EMPA
President

Jeffrey Damien Cappella is an Executive Master of Public Administration (E.M.P.A.) candidate, specializing in Security Studies. His professional background spans 14 years of military service, including active duty as an 11B-10 Infantryman with C Company, 1/21st Infantry Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and reserve duty as a 91B Combat Medic with HHC, 1/127th Armor at Masten Armory, Buffalo, New York, in the New York Army National Guard. ​ Academically, Jeffrey holds multiple degrees at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He earned undergraduate degrees in International Relations and Strategic Intelligence, with a concentration in Counter-Terrorism, from American Military University in West Virginia. At the graduate level, his academic achievements include advanced studies in Security Studies with a focus on Science and Technology in International Affairs from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. He also completed an Executive Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Security Studies and an Executive Master’s in Advanced National Security Studies through Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and the Institute of National Security and Counterterrorism, respectively. ​ Jeffrey’s professional accomplishments include formal academic training in Directed Energy Weaponry through the Directed Energy Professional Society, with a focus on high-energy laser systems. He has attended numerous conferences on missile defense, directed energy technologies, and orbital space dominance. ​ Currently, Jeffrey serves as a defense consultant, concentrating on strategic defense architectures, directed energy weaponry, post-WMD event response, and national energy security strategies.

Nargis Hossain, PhD, MBA
Vice President

Dr. Nargis Hossain has served as the Administrator and Academic Programs Officer for the State University of New York at Buffalo, Department of Surgery for over 14 years. Nargis’ primary responsibilities include the fiscal management of both State and Foundation departmental resources, and responsibilities relating to faculty recruitment, appointment/reappointment, promotion and retention. Nargis is also involved in STEM outreach programs to local inner city high schools to excite teenagers about STEM. Nargis helped develop the UB Drone STEM and UB BLAST program that promotes STEM education and Medical Entrepreneurship. Nargis works with Division Leaders, Practice Plan Administrators and other Senior Leadership to support the development and implementation of the Department of Surgery’s strategic initiatives. Nargis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo; a Master of Science in Information Security, Master of Science in Telecommunications and Network Management and an MBA from Syracuse University; and a PhD in Systems Engineering from the George Washington University.

Daniel Fitzpatrick
Government Affairs Officer

Danny Fitzpatrick is a seasoned fundraising and development professional with extensive experience in higher education and public service. Currently serving as Director of Development at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School, he brings a strong background in communications, political affairs, and advocacy. Prior to his current role, Danny held leadership positions with the Pet Advocacy Network and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, and worked at i360 as an Account Executive in campaigns and advocacy. Danny's public service includes his tenure as Town Supervisor for LaFayette, New York, where he led community initiatives and local governance efforts for over three years. He is a proud alumnus of Syracuse University, holding Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and History. With a deep commitment to education and public affairs, Danny leverages his skills in communications and political strategy to foster growth, engagement, and community impact.
